Community resources are also provided by the district. Suicide is the second leading cause of death for children age 10-14. He discussed with parents some myths and facts about suicide, national and local statistics, warning signs, and tips for parents, schools, and communities. Following the presentation, community members participated in a small group activity, discussing the risk and protective factors students face today and what other resources they’d like to see in the community.
